A thin, raggedly dressed girl stumbled out of a door and into the street. Her face was tearstained and dirty. She broke out into a run as she heard pursuing feet pounding down a staircase in the house she had fled. Dirt from the street stung blisters on her bare feet as she sprinted ahead. The girl darted behind a cart of melons just as two angry men stormed out of door, slamming it behind them. Holding her breath, she waited for them to vanish down the street before turning into a narrow alley. Running with all her might, she slipped out of the alley and into a broader road. Gasping for air, she went careening into a heavily armored man and was almost knocked senseless.

As the sleek armered man came closer, she flinched back. if there was a God, why would he be so crul as to let her fall into a hell on earth. Why had she been so stuped to belive that one lie would save one life? she was the reasion they died. she was the reasion that all the peaple wanted her dead and finally, the man in shining armer was going to kill her for something she never thought would happen. All becuse she helped one man she thought was innocent of a crime that cost this town half its life. She was going to die and the stainless sword on the knites hip will finaly get the blood that its been craving. the sword was calling her and she knew that it would have her if she didnt run out of there now.
